Work/study balance

How does one combine these two¿ I believe that it all comes down to being good at time management. Yo need to be able to prioritize and do the most important tasks first. Divide and conquer. First, you have to be able to tell if on a certain week the tasks during your studies will need more if your time or not. Juggling resposibilities is never easy but if you know beforehand of upcoming event or exam, you can prepare in advance.

What's vital is that you don't jeopardize your studies by handing in important assignments late. You have to keep yourself from being stressed-out, give yourself some "you time" indulge yourself or "treat yourself" as characters from Parks and Recreation used to say. If you miss out ona night out with friends, reschedule it but do not cancel alltogether. To keep yourself motivated you need to set small, achievable goals every week.

It's sn exciting challenge but one that requires you to be extra engaged in everything you do.

10 Cloverfield Lane or how the trailer to the sequel of J.J. Abrams 2008 movie just went viral..

According to the synopsis:

After a car accident, a young woman awakens in an underground cellar, where most of the action takes place. She fears she has been abducted by a survivalist, who tells her he saved her life and that a chemical attack has left the outside world uninhabitable. Uncertain what to believe, she decides she must escape, whatever dangers she may face outside.

Among the cast we can see John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
What is uncommon is that the whole existence of the sequel comes as a surprise. Sure, Cloverfield was something more than just another Blairwitchy-type film but this one doesn't look as if is closely related to it. From what we can in the trailer, it looks both disturbing and kind of eye-catching.

The cutest videos found on internet lately

Who doesn't like to take a break and look at some quite videos or photos? We all need it sometimes. According to the newest research, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/01/looking-at-cute-animal-pictures-at-work-can-make-you-more-productive_n_1930135.html), it actually makes us more productive if we do it at work. Apparently nurturing instincts make us more attentive and if we pay more attention to the details in the office, it is rather clear that our effectiveness grows as well.

And this year the Oscar goes to...

maybe Leonardo DiCaprio? He sure deserves it:) As for the other nominations, I guess it doesn't look that impressive to me this year.
Of course, Mad Max: Fury Road was something else in terms of set preparations etc. but the best film, best director and many other nominations.. Really? You can only watch a car chase for so long before it gets boring and it really gets boring.

As for the ones that weren't nominated from the films I've watched- why no Benicio del Toro for his role in Sicario? And by the way, where is the rest of nominations for this film? Well, at least the makers got the ones for cinematography, sound editing and the original score.

Here is the music- check out 32:40:

How one gets addicted to Spotify

I admit it. For a long time I opposed to the idea of having streaming apps installed on my phone. I always prefered to have the music directly on the device in case of lack of Internet connection. Of courseyou can only have so much music as not to clatter the memory. So, instead of having the whole music library, I started creating music lists- and only they would be synchronized. Of course, that way stopped working at some point. This is why I've finally installed Spotify. The idea of having access to all the music in the world is something else. But what I believe is the greatest strength of this app is the ablility to make suggestions, to create playlists that contain not only aleeady popular songs, but some that are rather unknown.

I'm driving home for Christmas

Or how the Christmas music literally drives you crazy.

In the beginning of the season, I think most of the people are rather pleased to hear a Christmas song. It reminds them of the upcoming holidays, lets us feel a little nostalgia for the good memories we associate with this time of the year (of course, it is scientifically proven that the brain represses unpleasant memories). Over the course of the couple of following weeks, one hears the songs so many times that you simply start to detest it. I mean, how long can you endure the same tune? Sure, if it were a great music, but even if it is, the same song over and over again just makes you want to punch something. There is a solution, and that solution is moderation. We can try not to actively search for these song and listen to them only if we have no other choice. That is whenever we are going to llok for the last minute presents for example.
This is another topic worth mentioning. how many times do we swear that the next year we'll buy something in advance? Why doesn't it work out (except for this minuscule precent that actually manages)?

You're Tarzan and she is Jane

Last night, out of the blue, I've stumbled upon the trailer for a new Tarzan movie. More accurately "Legend of Tarzan". Normally, remakes of this story are rather weak. However, I have to admit that m expectations are a bit higher towards this one. You just need to take one glimpse at the cast: starting from the main protagonist, played by Alexander Skarsgard, to his true love Jane, played by Margot Robbie (who is that rare exception, where beauty is complemented by acting skills) to secondary characters, among which we see Christopher Waltz (and nobody with two Oscars and his actual position in Hollywood has to play in bad movies to earn some money), Samuel Lee Jackson (who always creates characters that aren't fully serious and has that air of black humor), Djimon Hounsou (whose name you might not recognize, but his face for sure).

Let's wait and see in July 2016 if it really measured up to the expectations.

Here you have the teaser trailer:
